International cooperation

International activities of the University is aimed, first of all, on improvement of the quality of land management education taking into account modern requirements to high school and integration into the international educational space, improvement of educational process and scientific research activities on the basis of innovative technologies, export and import development of educational services, the support of the international image of the domestic higher education and the development of new promising areas of international cooperation, taking into account the interests and opportunities of foreign partners.

The main directions of the international cooperation of University is the following: cooperation with foreign partners within the signed agreements; participation in the international educational and research programs and projects; carrying out and participation in the international scientific conferences, symposiums, seminars, exhibitions; professional development, training, the organization of abroad training and practice for University students, graduate students and teachers; international mobility of students for practice and study; training of foreign citizens; development of new international contacts.

Currently we have more than 70 cooperation agreements with foreign higher educational institutions and different organizations, which represent the countries of all parts and continents of the globe. Annually the University participates in many international educational and research programmes and projects. So, only over the last three years, there are several TEMPUS projects: JEP 271652006 «Improvement of the system of retraining and raising of qualification of specialists in land management and inventories (DELAM)», 159311 - TEMPUS-1-2009-IT-TEMPUS - JPCR «Network of master training on technologies of water resources management» and others.

An important stage of the international cooperation development was the participation of the University in the project «German-Russian agrarian-political dialogue», which provides for carrying out of various actions, aimed, in particular, to improve the Russian system of land resources management in the light of the Federal Republic of Germany experience. TheUniversity takes an active part in the work of several international organizations, such as the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and others. The University delegations regularly participated in the events, organized by these international organizations in different countries. The University supports the relations with the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation, the Consulate General of Russia in Palermo (Italy) and Strasbourg (France), the UNESCO Office in Moscow and other organizations, as well as the embassies of many foreign countries.

At our University in area of land management and geodesy study about 20% from the number of all foreign citizens who are training in Russia.

Summary for foreign applicants. The academic year at SULUP starts in September and ends in July. Bachelor's degree takes 4 academic years to complete; Specialist's degree takes 5 academic years to complete; Master's degree takes 2 academic years to complete; Doctor's degree takes 3 academic years to complete. All the faculties provide the full-time study. The applicants are enrolled according to the results of entrance examinations (interview, test). If foreign citizens are interested in the curriculum of a particular course, please use the web-sites of the faculties. All the courses are given in Russian therefore it is necessary to have a Russian Language examination certificate.

To conclude the agreement to study at SULUP applicants should pass exams and submit to the department of international studies of the chosen faculty the following documents: filled application form; academic documents, equivalent to the academic documents of Russian Federation, with the academic degree, the full list of learned subjects and full list of marks, with a notarized translation into Russian: for Bachelor studies - school-leaving certificate; for Master studies - Bachelor’s or Specialist’s degree-certificate; for Post-graduate studies or Candidate’s degree - Master’s or Bachelor’s certificate. Academic documents should be legalized. Applicants can get the information about the procedure of legalization in the Russian embassy in the country where academic documents were issued.

Besides, the following documents are submitted: transcript (the document showing the list of the subjects with results) with a notarized translation into Russian; evidence of equivalence of the education certificate which was got outside the Russian Federation; medical certificate confirming that applicant haven’t got contra-indications for study in the Russian Federation; the AIDS test result confirming that applicant haven’t got AIDS, valid on the territory of Russian Federation; passport with visa and migration card; twelve 3x4 cm photographs.
