Research activities

         The main scientific researches of the University staff are connected with the following prioritized directions corresponding to training in the field of land management, cadastre and land monitoring, land policies in a globalizing world, land administration and urbanization, innovation and technology in land administration, inspection and supervision activities, territory management, land and property relations, urban development, spatial data infrastructure and information management, spatial planning and development, positioning and measurement, laser scanning technologies, satellite technologies in agriculture, investments in land issues, commercialization of land, infrastructure development and financing, land rents, rates and property taxation, property valuation, real estate finance and management, property rights and land tenure, as well as water, land, and forest resource management.  

       Considerable results in scientific researches were achieved by teams of scientists who had worked in the following acute directions: “The organization of rational agricultural land use in the Russian Federation” (Research Manager: Prof. Sergey N. Volkov); “The natural resources and real estate management optimization” (Research Manager: Prof. Viktor N. Hlystun); “The informational support for the use of degraded agricultural lands” (Research Manager: Prof. Anatoliy A. Varlamov); “The legal regulation of land and property relations in the Russian Federation” (Research Manager: Prof. Stanislav A. Lipski); “The agro-ecological zoning for land administration” (Research Manager: Prof. Valentin V. Vershinin); “The elaboration of information and economic mechanism for sustainable land use management” (Research Manager: Prof. Svetlana A. Galchenko); “The improvement of implementation of topographical and geodetic works in land cadastre, land monitoring, and building construction” (Research Manager: Prof. Vladimir N. Baranov); “The acute problems of theory and history of architecture and design” (Research Manager: Prof. Svetlana V. Ilvitskaya) etc.

         Scientific researches are financed from the various sources: from the federal budget of the Russian Federation, on the basis of economic contracts, from the own University funds and from the international grants. Annually the University volume of research and developmental works in calculation per one person makes not less than 200 thousand rubles.

         The University scientific researches are carried out on request of the state administrative structures, commercial enterprises and independent organizations, and together with the research and production organizations and establishments. Among them are: The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Gazprom, the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Goszemkadastrsjemka - VISHAGI, the Non-profit organization Association of the Moscow Higher Education Institutions, the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosenergoatom, the State Unitary Enterprise Mosgorgeotrest, Research and Production Aero Geodetic Enterprise Meridian +, and etc.

         The results of the scientific researches have found reflection in many Russian and foreign scientific editions. The university issues its own scientific magazine "Land Management, Land Monitoring, and Cadastre" (in Russian and in English).

         Total number of graduate students and doctoral candidates training at the University makes more than 200 people per year.

         It is necessary to improve further the role of the University as scientific, methodical and training center of innovations in the agrarian and in the industrial complex as the initiator of strategic change of the directions for further development of the land and property complex of the country on the basis of improvement of scientific and innovative activity. The university tends to become the leader of the world and of the Russian school of sciences in the field of land use planning, land management and inventories.
